Returning to the WorldSBK paddock for the first time since 2014, Loris Baz has a colourful career in the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship and will be hoping to be fighting back up at the front in 2018.

Born in Sallanches, France, the tall rider first stepped onto the scene in 2008 in the European Superstock 600 Class. Stunning the field to take the title that same year with eight podiums and three wins, he then moved up to STK1000 for 2009. Struggling with the more powerful bikes, he was only able to secure two podiums in two full seasons, with few appearances in 2011 and 2012.

Making the move up to WorldSBK in 2012 with Kawasaki, it took him a season to adapt to the ZX-10R before certifying himself as a front runner in 2013. Locked in some stunning battles throughout the field, he took 14 podium finishes and two victories overall and ended 2014 in top five in the championship. Making the step over to MotoGP™ in 2015, the 24 year old spent three years battling for points first with Yamaha and then Ducati. Making his welcomed return to WorldSBK for 2018 with GULF ALTHEA BMW Racing Team, only one thing will be on his mind; a return to the top.
