For Alex Lowes the 2019 season will be his fourth with the Pata Yamaha WorldSBK team, of which he’s been an integral part since Yamaha made their official return to the FIM Superbike World Championship in 2016.

The 2017 season saw Lowes record four podiums on the way to establishing himself as regular frontrunner, adding consistency to his undoubted raw speed.

Podiums at Donington Park, Misano, Magny-Cours and Qatar were the highlights of a promising season that saw the 28-year-old British rider finish in fifth place overall in the WorldSBK Championship standings with 242 points.

Lowes carried this run of form into 2018, racking up four podium finishes over the course of the season and taking his first world championship win during the Czech Republic round in Brno, getting the better of his teammate in the closing laps to claim the top step of the podium.

The Pata Yamaha rider ended the season in sixth place in the WorldSBK Championship standings with 248 points.

The former British Superbike Champion is also a three-time winner of the prestigious Suzuka 8 Hour endurance race, having taken consecutive victories for Yamaha in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
