  • Any damages to items inside your  as a result of condensation.

Failure to carry out basic maintenance will invalidate your warranty.

Condensation in your (metal) shed:

  • The units are designed with built in ventilation holes to minimise the build- up of moisture (condensation) inside the unit. However, in extreme conditions (such as a severe frost or heavy snow fall) some condensation may form.
  • Ensure the unit is situated in a well-ventilated area i.e. not tight up against a fence or wall. This increased air flow around the unit will reduce the chance of moisture forming.
  • In the event of heavy snow fall, try to brush any thick snow from accessible areas of the roof of the unit.
  • In the event of a harsh frost the lock may stick. Simply pour a little warm (NOT BOILING) water over the handle to release the lock.
  • A small amount of water ingress may be experienced at times, usually after exceptionally heavy or driving rain.  Should this occur please check the joints are still sealed nearest to the water ingress and reseal if necessary with a clear all-purpose silicone sealant.
  • Failure to comply with these instructions will invalidate the 10 year anti-perforation warranty.
  • Asgard accepts no responsibility for loss or damages caused by condensation.

How to reduce condensation in your metal garden shed, motorcycle garage or bike storage.

What is condensation? + Stopping condensation in a metal shed

You’ve no doubt seen condensation on walls and ceilings, as a result of rising damp and wondered what actually causes this to happen.

Condensation happens when surface temperature, air, and water vapor collide, causing droplets of moisture that cover surfaces of walls, ceilings, and many other internal surfaces. To understand how vapor is created, we need to understand the process of evaporation (see, What is Evaporation?). In extreme weather conditions, it has been known for these water droplets to actually freeze inside.

The risk of condensation depends on how moist the air is and how cold the shed surfaces are. Consideration must be given to your shed location, as a poor choice of location can increase the risk of condensation build up.

Your metal shed in the heat:

The sheds are made from metal.  Metal is a natural conductor of heat, so your shed will become hot in direct sunlight.  Whereever possible you should avoid situating your shed in direct sunlight if possible.  We accepts no responsibility for loss or damages caused by heat damage.

Replacement parts for your shed:

If the failed component is a customer serviceable item we will supply the part for the customer to fit.
